About me

Presentation

Ali Motamedi obtained his PhD in an interdisciplinary engineering program at Concordia University. His research focuses on emerging information technology applications in construction and facilities management, including the Internet of Things (IoT), localization, building information modeling (BIM) and data visualization. Ali is the recipient of several national and international scholarships and awards, including the JSPS, FQRNT, NSERC and Prix du mérite. The results of his research have been published in several journals and presented at various conferences. He also has many years’ experience in consulting/design in the field of facilities management and information technology, and has been involved in several large-scale IT projects.

In collaboration with our research and industry partners, we are conducting research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics and linked data, to enable cognitive computing: enabling automated reasoning and learning to improve the management of built assets.
The study of a seamless integration of real-time monitoring and intelligent computing to reveal the current state of the built asset, predict its dynamic behavior and assess its performance throughout its lifecycle.
Search for highly interactive and immersive visual analysis interfaces and XR applications to integrate tacit knowledge and expert expertise into the main evaluation and decision-making loop through design, engineering, construction and information management, as well as human resources management.
Identify and manage critical digitization requirements to accelerate BIM-centric digital change within the AEC/O&M industry.
