Yet, both in Quebec and internationally, there is a growing consensus on the need to improve performance and increase productivity (Groupe BIM Qu\u00e9bec, 2018). The digital shift and off-site construction are seen by many as the most promising avenues for tangibly improving productivity and value creation in this vital sector of the Quebec economy. For example, Koeleman et al. (2019) report that the digital shift in construction would increase industry productivity by 14-15% and reduce project costs by 4-6%. When combined with off-site construction, the digital shift could double productivity on the jobsite (Poirier et al. 2015).
