This study first conducted a Systematic Literature Review to identify the different domains involved in a configuration system for initial stage of construction projects. Subsequently, it analyzes configurators available in the market with criteria oriented to modular building design. Finally, this research aims to propose a BIM based configuration building system to alleviate earlier constraints identified in the previous stage. This configuration system will be validated by industry partners and may be supplemented with databases to generate and analyze building project designs.
