Érik Poirier

Erik Andrew Poirier PhD in construction engineering. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in construction engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Laval University. He completed his post-doctoral internship at the BIM Topics Lab at the University of British Columbia where he taught and participated in the supervision of 8 HQP. He has more than 15 years of industry experience, having worked in Vancouver and Montreal. Erik acts as Vice-President of the BIM Group in Quebec and is a member of the board of directors of buildingSMART Canada. The two non-profit organizations aim to support the built environment sector in digital transformation. He is co-director of the mirror committee ISO / TC59 SC 13 – Organization of information on construction works for the Standards Council of Canada. Erik specializes in integrating and optimizing information flows in value chains and in the life cycle of the built environment.
